We currently have an opportunity available for a senior level Java / J2EE candidate to work onsite for one of our prestigious clients in Northern, NJ.  This opportunity is immediate and a minimum of one year in length.


Key responsibilities:

(1) Project Work * Working as a technical leader, this position will be responsible for the design, construction, and testing of critical open-system based solutions. This position is responsible for taking a technical solution from design to implementation in an outsourced, in-sourced and composite team environment. Develops detailed design specifications based on functional and technical requirements and coordinates the execution across various stakeholders and internal services providers. This position will also be responsible for understanding current and future technologies, standards/practices and developing an effective adoption plan to deliver business value.

(2) Operational Responsibility *Provides technical leadership and oversight across multiple project efforts ensuring that all initiatives are building upon or adding to a reusable services oriented architecture. Provides input to, and is responsible for executing the activities described in the application and technical architecture sections of strategic technology direction.

*  Bachelor*s Degree in Computer Science preferred and at least 8-10 years experience in systems analysis and application program development (or an equivalent combination of education and work experience).

*  At least 5 years of significant experience leading the development and support of n-tier, mission-critical, transactional applications.

*  Requires hands-on technical expertise in the development and/or architecture in the following technologies: Java/J2EE, Web Services or SOAP/XML, BEA WebLogic, webMethods, SOA, XML, BEA Web Portal, Interwoven TeamSite

*  Demonstrate a strong understanding of Software Engineering best practices

*  Demonstrate a solid understanding of distributed systems, middleware technologies and n-tier architecture, as well as a variety of software tools and languages.

*  Demonstrated experience with a diversity of technical solutions development and delivery life-cycles (mainframe, 3rd party solutions, RAD, iterative, etc)

*  Requires excellent communication, leadership, decision-making, interpersonal, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and with clients. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong general acumen, problem solving and planning skills.

*  Familiarity with Unified Modeling Language, J2EE and GoF Design Patterns preferred

*  Familiarity with jUnit, ANT, Struts, Oracle, TopLink, Castor, LDAP, portal technologies preferred

*  Familiarity with eCommerce/eBusiness applications in the travel & hospitality industry a plus.

*  Architecture planning and experience with legacy systems and legacy systems integration a plus
