Quality Engineer I (Hardware)
      Division Overview: Founded in 1933, Telephonics started as a defense contractor, manufacturing headsets for military aircraft from a small factory in New York. It gained a reputation as one of the world's foremost providers of airborne communications equipment for military applications. Shortly after its inception, Telephonics expanded its expertise beyond information and communications technologies to include defense applications covering air, land and sea. After getting its start in military markets, Telephonics expanded its customer base to the commercial sector, now the source of nearly half of company revenues.
      Brief Summary: Performs final inspection and sell off, and witness testing.  Answers questions relating to standard practices and procedures.  Develops statements of work for subcontractors.  Acts as liaison between departments and makes independent decisions to insure adherence to quality procedures.  Develops and implements quality procedures.  Develops and maintains monthly program status.  Establishes and collects data for metrics reporting, and analyzes results of activities for potentially adverse trends.  Performs other duties as assigned.          
      Requirements: B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5+ years directly related experience. Must have written and audited Quality Systems in compliance with MIL Standards. Must posses the ability to use standard electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, meters, counters, frequency meters, logic analyzers, etc.  Also, must posses the ability to use mechanical measurement equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparitors and scales.  Knowledge of ISO 9001 required. Detailed knowledge of MIL-Q-9858A and MIL-STD-1535 requirements as related to supplier control required.  Must be PC literate including proficiency in Word and Excel.  Excellent organizational and communications skills required. Must be willing to work within a team environment. Analytical skills are essential. Must have a background that would permit the issuance of a Security clearance, which includes US citizenship.
