The Corporate Internet Group (CIG) supports public Internet sites for all lines of business within J. P. Morgan Chase. CIG is comprised of over 400 professionals located in Delaware, New York, Ohio, Florida and Illinois. The group consists of senior business strategists, developers, infrastructure and architecture specialists, information architects, usability professionals, interactive designers, editors and other project support and operations staff. CIG works closely with all lines of business including: Auto Lending, Business Banking, Card Services, Commercial Banking, Education Finance, Home Lending, Investing, Private Bank, Private Client Services, Retail and Treasury.  J.P. Morgan Chase's online sites are currently among the top ranked in the industry. CIG's goal is to provide consistent, integrated internet applications that are intuitive, dependable and easy to use for all customers.

 

The Application Development Lead is responsible for creating and managing thedevelopment work plan to track all project deliverables and communicate developmentstatus within the broader technology team.  In addition, the Application Development Lead within CIG is responsible for the detailed technical code design documentation. You will work closely with other groups within CIG such as Architecture, Business Architecture QA, Customer Experience, and Project Management.  You will need to communicate effectively with these groups as well coordinate development efforts to ensure the project's success.   

 

Responsibilities include:



  • Provide input (scope, level of difficulty, etc.) into estimates for new



  • project work, change controls, and work orders.



  • Oversee design and development of components from a project level; responsible



  • for the design, development, and IST of all application components assigned to



  • team.



  • Manage development work plans throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.



  • Code reviews; detailed inspection of all code delivered.



  • Review detailed designs and code. Participate and function as the development



  • SME on all project related calls.



  • On-time delivery of high-quality code.



  • Oversee offshore work performed on own platforms.



  • Support QA phase by tracking and assigning defects to development team; work



  • with QA leads to schedule fixes and builds and enable QA to be successful.



  • Identify efficiencies and ways to improve design and development processes.



  • Manage development resources and their daily activities.



  • Mentoring of less-experienced resources.





 

 



Qualifications




  • Minimum five years of Application Development work experience throughout the

  • entire project lifecycle

  • Strong design, coding, testing and debugging skills with Internet applications

  • Strong focus on project delivery

  • Experience creating and managing development workplans

  • Experience with providing input for project estimates

  • Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures

  • Strong communication skills


Skills required:  Must have experience with Java/J2EE, web services, XML, design patterns, Service Oriented Architecture,.

 

Preferred skills: Financial services experience; Technology: experience with adobe/PDF file format, Core Java, Servlets, JSP, EJB, JNDI, JMS, JDBC, SQL; Database: Oracle, SQL Server; Operating Systems: Unix Solaris, Windows NT/2000; Products: Weblogic Application Server, IBM WebSphere, IBM Rational ClearCase, Axis
