Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the technical design of next generation databases, which may span across multiple products. Use experience to help translate requirements into technical designs.
• Contribute to next generation database schema design geared for performance using MS SQL Server
• Contribute to next generation database schema design optimal for web and smart client applications 
• Provide support for evaluating new tools and technology.
• Experience in data modeling, excellent in problem solving skills, experience in TSQL, stored procedure, and ability to perform in an agile environment.
• Provide support for architectural designs to enhance complex subsystems like analytics engine.
• Employ best database development knowledge to address performance, scalability and efficiency issues with large databases.
• Design and develop reference databases in SQL Server 2000 and 2005, along with the ETL applications required to build them. 
• You must be able to develop and support OLAP, star schemas, cubes, and conduct data mining and Analysis and provide technical assistance to data analysts, database developers and software developers.




Qualifications:

You should have a strong working knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 with proficiency in Performance tuning, and writing stored procedures. You should also have a strong understanding of RDBMS concepts and the ability to multi-task.

In addition, you should have had exposure to SQL Server 2005, and an understanding of new capabilities especially with regards to .NET CLR, Analysis/Reporting services (this would be a huge plus). Some ORACLE experience would be helpful as well as knowledge of application programming languages such as C#, C++. Also, the ability to comprehend complex problems and translate them into software requirements is a must.


 


EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
• B.S. in CS or equivalent
• 8 - 10 Years experience as a database engineer.
• 8 Years working in a commercial software industry.
