National Account Manager

 

The National Account Manager is responsible for the sales and account management to Institutions (public school districts, public and private schools, and other related institutions) in their assigned territory. This position is instrumental in helping K12 meet its revenue and profitability goals. This includes cold calling and prospecting, responding to customer sales needs, properly qualifying prospects, applying a solutions selling methodology to the sales cycle, promptly completing proposals and sales activities, closing sales opportunities quickly and efficiently and completing necessary paperwork and implementation steps to set projects in motion successfully. This also includes, as a primary responsibility, managing the ongoing customer relationship with the K12 Key Account Assigned.

Principal Responsibilities:

    * Manage and own the K12 Key Account relationships and deliver excellent service to assigned accounts
    * Advise and support marketing and student enrollment activities to achieve student enrollment targets for the accounts
    * Accountability and ownership of customer escalation issues
    * Manage and status report between the customer and K12
    * Solicit feedback to ensure K12 is providing the highest possible level of service to our clients
    * Prospect to identify and qualify new potential customers, including cold calling and development of leads through referral channels, to generate appointments and establish relationships including collecting appropriate account information and identifying appropriate contacts at each prospect, and leveraging K12's marketing activities and partner relationships
    * Close sales of virtual school curriculum and services to prospective institutional customers to meet sales goals and contribute to company profit including preparation of proposals, performing or coordinating demonstrations when necessary and closing the sale as quickly, efficiently and independently as possible by applying a solution-selling methodology and properly managing the sales cycle
    * Complete all sales paperwork promptly, thoroughly and accurately, to ensure company profitability and maximize our ability to deliver a high-quality program and minimize potential problems or issues in service delivery or invoicing including contracts, pipeline reports, sales reports, management reports and other required information and forms
    * Ensure a clean knowledge transfer and hand-off of closed sales to the Operations Division, such that program set up and service issues can be handled smoothly and customer satisfaction can be maximized; work with the Operations Division on an ongoing basis to ensure customer satisfaction
    * Maintain all sales resources and databases such that they are kept up to date and accurate
    * Effectively communicate with K12's Key Accounts and corporate staff. Build a good working relationship with the Key Account, ensure an understanding of the Key Account's needs and objectives and approach decisions as a partnership with the customer
    * Follow K12 procedures to perform sales functions in an organized, effective manner to ensure customers perceive K12 to be thorough, well-prepared and accountable; take ownership of issues and show professionalism and control
    * Develop and maintain a broad background in K12's core offerings, to ensure the ability to design customer proposals and close sales opportunities as independently as possible

Requirements

This highly motivated individual will have strong sales, communication and organizational skills that is eager to learn and become part of a rapidly-growing Distance Learning/Virtual Schooling industry. Experience in the public education sector as a teacher, school or district official is strongly preferred.

    * Bachelor’s degree
    * Demonstrated history of sales success
    * Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet goals is required
    * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
    * Experience with technology related products in education industry
    * Personally motivated, aggressively goal-oriented focus
    * Prior experience in public education/administration strongly preferred
