Job Responsibilities:


General Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day technical field support of the XO Sales Team. Assist in moving opportunities through the sales process by utilization of technical and communication skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interfaces with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations
• Designs viable complex voice and data network sales solutions for customer applications with alternatives based on customer-specific technical and financial parameters. May include preparation of network topologies, network drawings, technical specifications, and assisting Sales with pricing
• Assist Sales Rep with ICB development and review, and assembles required data and initiates Complex ICB process
• Works with appropriate internal committees to validate XO’s ability and willingness to offer a solution.
• Assists Sales Representatives in developing presentations and delivering these presentations to all levels of customer contacts including both technical contacts and executives
• Translates techno-speak to plain English for both customers and internal personnel and English to techno-speak at a level all can readily understand
• Reviews and scrubs all orders before being submitted
• Conducts formal site surveys on T-1 and above orders (site survey will be used Service Delivery and Operations)
• Pull and analyze CSR for every order as required (this helps involve the SE early in the sales process)Works with ARM and top tier account for configuration changes
• Develop and deliver appropriate ad-hoc training for market, including new product and new technology
• Engage in mentoring activities with technical support staff without formal supervisory responsibility
• Works with ARM and other account executives for configuration changes
• Performs other duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Licensures: CCNA or similar certification preferred
• Relevant Work Experience:
• 5- 7 years of field telecommunications, data sales, and technical sales support experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated expert level knowledge of designing and presenting complex customer voice solutions including PBX systems, voicemail, Centrex, digital hierarchy, general industry trends in voice technologies
• Demonstrated expert level knowledge of designing and presenting complex customer data connectivity solutions including IP networking, firewall, VPN, web hosting, managed server, collocation
• Demonstrated ability to develop and present complex presentations, including Visio presentations, to clients in a clear, understandable, and concise format
• Possess general understanding of costs and processes associated with delivering both on-net and Type 2 services
• Understand financial models and ROI
