Job Description:

This role is responsible for defining the product strategy, developing and executing a roadmap and leading the market in developing innovative digital solutions for all products in News, Sport and Archival (NS&A). The Director Product Management will work cross functionally with Senior Leadership, Sales, Marketing and Technology to translate this strategy into new or enhanced products and services in the Editorial market involving still and new media. This roadmap will be validated by web analytics, customer feedback to meet business requirements. This position will report directly to the SVP, Editorial Imagery.


Your Next Challenge:



  • Define and drive a cohesive product strategy to include key metrics to meet business expectations for the editorial market

  • Collaborate with multiple departments and executives to develop detailed functional requirements and prioritize enhancements to drive initiatives to a successful conclusion

  • Gather and prioritize customer feedback, identifies opportunities in the competitive landscape and defines the product vision to deliver new features and products into the market place rapidly

  • Analyze sales trends by region, product (NS&A) and business model (a la carte, subscription.)  Review customer counts (active, lapsed, and new) and proactively work to evolve plans appropriately to available data and market trends  

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships and communicate with internal departments to ensure that implementation plans meet deadlines and proactively resolve any issues

  • Seek customer and sales feedback and input on products/services. Manage the process to ensure that all appropriate product information is communicated in a timely manner to customers, sales teams and other internal groups

  • Manage development and implementation of training programs to inform customer-facing staff of product messaging and marketing activity


What You'll Need:



  • 10 plus years experience in Marketing/or management consulting

  • BA in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience required, MBA a plus

  • Experience in online marketing and e-commerce optimization with proven analytical and project management skills

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing worldwide marketing plans that produce high growth and build strong brands

  • Experience in managing/supervising a team of marketing professionals

  • Demonstrated knowledge of software, e-commerce and internet business strategies required. Editorial or digital media preferred

  • Experience in managing and delivering multiple complex projects across functional, geographical and cultural boundaries

  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills with superior writing and editing skills across all media

  • Proven experience in working well in a creative team environment within a matrix organization

  • Experience working in a fast paced creative environment - candidates must be flexible and comfortable in a state of change
