We have an immediate opening for a Project Director in our On-Demand Research division. Project Directors (“PDs”) are responsible for effectively managing client projects from initial project scoping to final project deliverable. PDs work with clients and are responsible for planning, managing and executing all aspects of small to large-scale projects in collaboration with the Vice President and/or Managing Director. PDs ensure a high level of client satisfaction with a focus on responsiveness, resolution of problem situations, and successful completion of deliverables. PDs play an important role in business development by identifying new growth opportunities in their accounts.
We are especially interested in candidates with a Financial Services background.
Responsibilities include the following:
· Participate in business development; scope and propose projects to clients and prospects
· Partner with Research Directors to maximize revenue from client accounts;
· Fully understand, anticipate and proactively address clients needs and build lasting relationships with clients;
· Supervise research analysts and/or other team members assigned on client projects;
· Oversee project analysis, writing and client presentations, including analyzing and synthesizing results and findings;
· Delegate responsibility for individual project tasks as appropriate;
· Creatively use internal and external research sources;
· Apprise clients on project progress and ensure projects are delivered on time and budget;
· Provide oversight and feedback on work done by project team members, including final deliverables, to ensure Guideline delivers high-quality work and meets client expectations;
· Develop knowledge in specialty area, or an agreed upon list of specialties, relevant to clients;
· Regularly contribute to mentoring, developing, hiring and retaining staff;
· Participate in sales and marketing activities as assigned by the Managing Director.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
· Bachelor’s Degree, minimum GPA 3.0, and minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in a professional services environment; background in consulting and/or research;
· Solid understanding and knowledge of the specific vertical industry served by the practice;
· Enjoys developing and uncovering new business opportunities and partnering with Sales;
· Demonstrated experience with understanding client business needs, scoping projects and writing proposals;
· Strong presentation skills, including outstanding oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with senior executives;
· Proven analytic capabilities, with the ability to piece together data from multiple sources into a coherent picture and ability to problem-solve creatively;
· Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, including ability to build rapport with clients as well as other team members;
· Superior project management skills. Possesses ability to multi-task, including managing the research on several projects simultaneously, as well as producing deliverables and high level of productivity to meet deadline challenges;
· Prior project management experience essential.
