Position Description:
Position Summary:
SIRIUS XM Radio is seeking a senior executive to lead and manage a national advertising sales team within a unique and dynamic entertainment company. The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic, operational, sales and marketing skills, and has a proven track record and ability to execute against annuals sales goals. Advertising Sales offices are located in New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the overall effectiveness and execution of national advertising sales with a primary focus on meeting and/or exceeding annual revenue goals, including responsibility for annual ad sales forecast, day-to-day sales management, marketing, and strategy. Position specifics include the following:
* Create, develop and lead ad sales strategy to maximize profit
* Execute strategic sales and account plans and help establish sales priorities
* Cultivate and expand existing client and agency relationships to increase ad sales revenue and meet client needs
* Develop new business relationships and partnerships in an effort to grow existing customer base and exceed annual ad sales objectives
* Lead and support ad sales marketing team in creation of innovative advertising concepts to present to clients and agencies.
* Ongoing research and analysis of the marketplace to ensure that Company has the most up-to-date competitive and market information to support ad sales growth
* Overall responsibility for commercial production management, including the creation of compelling and unique content in the form of voicing, editing, and mixing.
* Manage ad sales inventory and tracking to maximum utilization and revenue growth
* Partner with SIRIUS XM internal departments, including Promotions, Marketing and Programming, to effectively manage all aspects of ad sales campaign.
Management responsibilities:
* Manage national ad sales and marketing team, including regional VP's, Account Managers, Traffic, Ad Sales Marketing and sales assistants in all ad sales locations.
* Create and develop an aggressive sales team that can win in the marketplace and execute against annual revenue goals
* Evaluate sales operations functions (admin, traffic, etc.) to maximize efficiencies and minimize lengthy administrative process relative to closing deals, getting spots on air, etc.
* Collaborate with executive management and human resources to implement sales compensation plans that effectively reward and retain top sales people and drive sales performance
* Develop and implement sales management tools and systems to ensure maximum performance from the sales force, including qualitative and quantitative measurements of sales productivity.
* Direct involvement with selling into key accounts and development of strategic relationships to maximize sales revenue and future growth
Requirements:
* Minimum of 15 years of experience managing a fast-paced advertising sales organization.
* Minimum of 10 years managing people, with emphasis on and demonstrated ability to lead sales teams to success
* Must be able to interact with C level executives; this position will have direct and consistent interaction with the CEO
* Strong understanding of the needs of both agency and client-direct sales; established rolodex and client list a must
* Consistent track record and ability to execute against annual sales objectives
* Well developed negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to understand the impact of general economic, financial and market conditions and alter strategic and operational direction in response to the changing environment and business needs.
* Ability to manage constant change and ambiguity and make effective decisions regardless.
* Ability to think both strategically and execute against day-to-day objectives
* BA or equivalent is required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred
* Prior experience working within a media/entertainment com
* Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
