About the Position
IDS USA has an immediate opening for a Manager – Supply Chain Solutions. This position provides project management and technical support services to IDS business units (BUs) and customers in at least two (2) of the following areas of expertise: supply chain network design, transportation planning and management, demand and inventory management, sales territory planning, and operations simulation modeling.
This position is responsible for leading a team of supply chain technical specialists that provides core expertise in applying analytical tools and operations research modeling methodologies to assist BUs and customers in continually minimizing supply chain cost and at the same time improving customer service levels.
MAJOR CHALLENGES
1) Identify potential customers that will benefit from the SCS menu of services
2) Generate revenue from the SCS menu of services
3) Build the capabilities and expertise of the SCS Center staff through hiring and mentoring

Skills
Quantitative Modeling Skills – Ability to formulate and solve Supply Chain problem structures (e.g. Linear Programming, Mixed Integer Linear Programming, and Simulation or heuristics modeling); Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
Critical Thinking -- Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; Analytical problem solving abilities with experience in processing significant amount of data and turning it into actionable information
Project Management Skills -- Strong time management and effective project management skills; Works independently with minimal direction but effectively coordinates activities within a highly interdependent group
Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills -- Ability to communicate clearly to a wide range of people and audiences, and at all levels of management.
Knowledge
Knowledge in the application of various GIS, database and optimization software such as ArcView, MapInfo, TransCAD, SAS, CAPS Logistics, TruckStops, Arena simulation software, SQL, C++, VBA, or M.S. Access
Methodologies for the conduct of supply chain case studies
Exposure to a supply chain management environment
Relevant country legislation applicable to the logistics and distribution industry, would be an advantage, though not compulsory

Requirements
Education & Professional Qualification
Graduate of BS, or equivalent in Industrial Engineering or related courses – operations research, math, statistics, logistics, business, or economics.
Professional training in any of the following areas: supply chain planning and management, logistics and distribution management, transportation planning and management
Experience
At least 5 years related experience in the application of Operations Research methods and tools in the planning and management of supply chain networks, logistics, distribution, or transportation systems.
At least 3 years in a management capacity with experience in developing optimization studies; liaising with and engaging senior managers; and supervising technical staff
Knowledge
