Position Summary:
Lead and coordinate team of international category managers who are planning, identifying and locating suppliers of equipment for production of beverages and salty snack foods in the U.S., Europe, China, Asia/Pacific, India and Middle East.
Position Accountabilities:
Will direct team members who are identifying and sourcing the equipment for production of these consumer package goods including: labelers, palletizers and depalletizers, fillers, cappers, rinsers, conveyors, fryers, scales and baking equipment.
Will assign tasks to team members who are setting up and running meetings with suppliers and subject matter experts in engineering, manufacturing, R&D, operations, marketing and food flavoring, processing and storage, to reduce capital cost reduction and improve the performance of this equipment.
Will research and analyze performance of this equipment and review vendor supplied specifications and reports.
Will monitor the work of team members who are participating in the development of the specifications for this equipment which can be sourced at the optimum price and from the most efficient geographic locations yielding ?lowest landed cost? in keeping with company?s Global Strategic Sourcing Strategy.
Will report to management about the performance of team members who are performing their duties to ensure purchases are made in compliance with FDA and foreign equivalent regulations in these countries and areas, SOX and company policies, including company?s Supplier Code of Conduct.
Will supervise team members who are preparing and processing requests for quotes in excess of ten million dollars for the purchase of this equipment, preparing nonbinding Letters of Intent and Master Purchase Agreements for this equipment for legal review and approval.
Will lead team members who are negotiating with and resolving purchase or delivery conflicts directly with the suppliers of this equipment.
Job Requirements: MS or US equivalent in food science, engineering or related field.
6 months direct or 1 year related experience doing the duties of the team members which candidate will be leading, supervising, coordinating, directing, assigning tasks to, monitoring the work of, and reporting to management about the performance of these team members.
