Summary Directs and coordinates activities of a USDA food manufacturing plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Direct all day to day business operations of a manufacturing & distribution operation.
- Ensure all 200 plant personnel are operating in compliance with plant and corporate procedures.
- Ensure that plant is operating in compliance with USDA and government regulations.
- Conduct meetings with plant staff to ensure all operational issues are being communicated and addressed expediently with a common understanding of goals.
- Communicate plant operations status with Director of Operations.
- Participate in the development of an accurate annual plant budget.
- Interact with customers to meet their expectations on operational and quality objectives.
- Coach and provide direction to direct reports.
- Manage business relationship with Customer to ensure the achievement of Quality, Safety, Customer Service and Financial goals.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues related to the manufacturing process resulting either from equipment failures, non-conformance to formulas or procedures, or faulty processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
· At least 5-7 years leading a food manufacturing establishment.
· A solid understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles
· An understanding of DOT policy and procedures
· Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to teamwork and a team-based environment.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, proficient in communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to interact with associates at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated attitude of respect and professionalism while working with others.
· Ability to analyze and process high volumes of information and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner with precise attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Education and/or Experience
BS/BA in Engineering, Food Science, Business or any other applicable field with 5 or more years manufacturing management experience. Must have experience in food production, warehousing, distribution, inventory control and facilities management. Candidate must posses a minimum of 3 years experience in a USDA environment with exposure to all areas of plant operations.
