Job Responsibilities: Experience the personal challenge of working for a world class organization and leader in the Utilities and Energy industry as an Engineer at one of our Electric Generation Sites at various locations throughout our Long Island, New York, service territory. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:

    * Perform technical investigations and administrative tasks related to power plant operation and maintenance.
    * Analyze, identify, and take appropriate actions to correct unsatisfactory system and plant conditions and to improve plant performance.
    * Investigate system performance problems and, with Engineering, develop system modifications as needed.
    * Develop Operational/Technical procedures for use of plant personnel in plant operations/maintenance activities.
    * Interface with other company departments as well as external contractors and vendors in the performance of plant operations and maintenance.
    * Conduct equipment tests, analyze the results and prepare recommendations for corrective actions.
    * Oversee company or contractor work force in the performance of plant modifications, maintenance and repairs.
    * Monitor all plant operating and environmental equipment through regular inspections and review of logs.
    * Act as a Project Engineer for Major/Minor Capital Projects from inception through implementation and initial service. Responsibilities include Budget Preparation/analyzing and reporting. Direct Supervision of Company/Contractor Work Forces during project implementation.
    * Interface with various Government Agencies tasked with oversight of Station activities.
    * Be "on call" on a regularly scheduled basis during weekends and off hours to respond to plant contingencies.



Job Qualifications:

    * A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science is required with a minimum of five years related experience preferred, (power plant systems and maintenance experience preferred).
    * Knowledge in areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, electricity and related disciplines is preferred.
