AECOM is seeking an environmental engineer with >10 years experience to support the environmental engineering and remediation group in our New York Region. This exciting opportunity offers a growth position in a team oriented environment. Projects include site management, site assessment, RI/FS, RD/RA, and projects related to sites impacted by hazardous wastes and materials. The engineer should be self-motivated and able to work on complex engineering projects with the desire and ability to build a strong support team.
Accountabilities
- Perform a wide variety of activities including site investigations and remediation projects for public and private clientele.
- May function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-sized projects.
- Manage environmental engineering projects including feasibility studies, remedial designs, and preparation of other related documentation / reports.
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey and New York HTRW regulations required.
- Perform construction oversight, QA / QC, and installation / operation / maintenance of treatment systems.
- Manage the financials for small to mid size projects and tasks.
- Will work with agencies and clients to negotiate remedial action.
- May also be part of marketing efforts for remediation projects.
- Manage subcontractors, project budgets and schedules.
- Some daytime, overnight, and extended travel required (about 15%).
- 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus.
Knowledge
- Masters in related engineering discipline.
- New Jersey PE required.
- Requires a minimum of 10 years experience in with increasing levels of project complexity and management responsibility.
- Experience should be in the environmental field which may include hazardous waste and environmental remediation.
- Good organizational, technical, writing, communication and computer skills also required.
- Experience with various remediation technologies, particularly in situ chemical oxidation and groundwater remediation systems.
- Experience with remediation of contaminated sediments is desired.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and ArcView GIS required.
