Description:
Senior Geotechnical & Tunnel Engineer (New York, NY): Prepare and interpret Geotechnical subsurface investigation programs, perform boring inspections and in-situ testing. Supervise drilling and construction work, prepare and recommend Geotechnical design parameters. Analyze a range of Geotechnical problems, including shallow foundations, cut-and-cover and mined tunnels, embankments, dams, retaining structures, ground improvement, slope stability, and seismic design. Prepare and review Geotechnical reports, drawings and specifications. Perform Quality Control and Analysis. Perform computer modeling on complicated 2-D and 3-D Geotechnical problems, such as tunnel excavation and support design, impact of newly constructed tunnel on existing tunnels and other structures, and groundwater impact analyses using ROCSCIENCE engineering package (PHASE2, SLIDE, UNWEDGE, SWEDGE, ROCPLANE, DIPS, ROCFALL, EXAMINE2D, ROCDATA and ROCLAB), ITASCA Package (FLAC and UDEC) and GEOSTUDIO package (SLOPE/W and SEEP/W).
Requirements:
This position requires a Master's degree in Tunnel, Geotechnical, or Earth Systems Engineering from US University with 5 years of experience as a Geotechnical and/or Tunnel Engineer. Experience is required with field investigations, in-situ testing, stability analysis, 2-D & 3-D FEA, FLAC, and QA/QC on tunneling projects. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
