Description:     

PB is looking for a Resident Engineer needed to supervise construction inspection staff for roadway/bridge projects throughout the state.  This position entails all typical duties of a resident engineer with an inspection / office engineering staff.  Must have previous resident engineering experience working in roadway and bridge construction.  Should have experience with clearing and grubbing, roadway, embankment, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, bridge construction, MPT, drainage, and roadway electrical.

Description of Duties:

·        Plans, organizes, and supervises resident engineering and construction inspection activities for a major project

·        Serves as the senior site representative for the inspection of contractor construction activities, payments, processing and negotiation of claims and change orders

·        Supervises a staff of construction management personnel consisting of engineers, inspectors, project control, office engineers, project administrators, and specialty sub-consultants.

·        Leads progress meetings and interacts with client on a daily basis.

·        Coordinates responses to RFI's and other technical issues with design engineers.

·        Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.

Requirements:      Bachelors Degree

NYS PE or ability to obtain through reciprocity.

10-20 years experience with NYSDOT experience preferred.

Knowledge of NYSDOT specification, MURK standards, and experienced with specialized bridges preferred.
