KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice focuses on fundamental business issues — managing risk, increasing revenues, controlling costs — that organizations, across various industries, should address in order to help them flourish. We are currently seeking an Operational Due Diligence Director to join us in our New York, Chicago, San Francisco or Detroit office. KPMG Advisory's Transaction Services practice provides Operational Due Diligence (“ODD”) assistance services to its private equity, strategic and investment banking clients. ODD services provide insight into the target’s operational performance, potential synergies, carve-out considerations and potential integration costs. The group strives to help the client make informed decisions as it considers whether to proceed with a transaction, how to value it, and what the timing may be.
Responsibilities: • Play a key leadership role in helping to grow the North American practice • Lead business development activities for ODD with corporate as well as Private Equity clients • Lead teams in performing assessments of target companies by leveraging ODD methodologies and frameworks • Lead teams in performing enterprise improvement programs by implementing cost reduction and efficiency optimization initiatives • Design and facilitate in-depth interview programs with key company stakeholders including customers, suppliers and business partners • Contribute to the oversight, development, and presentation of final client deliverables • Maintain a knowledge repository of operational metrics within inventory, production, logistics, supply chain, sales and customer service • Act as a performance manager for staff and guide in their development
Qualifications: • Eight years of relevant work experience related to business operations, supply chain, synergy analysis, cost reduction and/or operational restructuring • Master’s degree in Business or Operations from an accredited college/university • Experience in both a client service role from a top-tier management consulting firm and a corporate operating role • Strong knowledge of consumer products, industrials, aerospace/defense and/or automotive industries • Demonstrated experience in implementation of sustainable cost reduction programs • Deep knowledge and understanding of business operations including manufacturing, supply chain, selling, general and administrative expense, sales/marketing, product development and working capital issues • Experience managing multiple client engagements • Demonstrated ability for developing relationships with senior clients (corporates and Private Equity) • Experience leading complex analysis assignments with a strong financial analysis capability • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
