Job Description:
The VP Operational Logistics - Renovation directs daily logistical planning and coordination between the MSG Renovation Project Team and the facility operators. Partners and coordinates with the Project Team on all operational activities and requirements for the renovation construction to assure minimal disruption between business units, tenants, guests, clients, and employees. Coordinates all construction related activities effecting the day to day operations of Madison Square Garden including event related activities.. Partners with senior executives and appropriate MSG Stakeholders to support and coordinate events, as well as employee, client and guest needs within the Madison Square Garden renovation project. Works with MSG Facilities to assist in the development of logistic and phasing plans that will minimize impact on operational areas. Reviews and presents overviews, status reports and offers recommendations to stakeholders and operational executives. Develops and manages the operations team while partnering with external consultants and government agencies to develop, inform and execute with a focus on mitigating the project's impact on daily operations. Oversees internal moves, storage and disposition of equipment and other discreet projects relating to the renovation. Provides senior management with the necessary research and analysis to support the decision making process specifically where a conflict exists between the renovation and operating teams. Coordinates internal labor with operations staff as required to support the renovation.
Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have eight or more years of arena management experience in a NHL/NBA market with venue construction and redevelopment experience. Will have extensive knowledge of building and production operations within an entertainment venue. Must have a general understanding of building systems especially MEP and Fire Safety. Must have experience partnering with senior management teams, staff and external clients. Must have strong project management, communications, organizational and negotiation skills. Will have demonstrated success managing multiple departments while handling strict deadlines and operating in a fast paced environment. Must have the ability to prioritize and evaluate needs, resolve conflict, build consensus and manage in a complex organizational environment. Must provide updates with deep knowledge of the renovation project. Will have the capability to lead and develop cross-functional teams while working independently and collaboratively to effect sound problem solving and decision making. Will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to develop good working relationships internally and externally. Will be able to work independently to complete projects and have strong creative and problem solving abilities. Must be computer proficient with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD and e-mail. Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
