Commercial Manager
The objective of the department is to ensure the Business Unit achieves both its annual financial objectives and its strategic intent.
The Commercial Department will support the company’s strategy by increasing revenue and account acquisition in excess of the market and create a balanced customer portfolio and revenue mix. Commercial will achieve this by consistently improving our ability to win, keep and develop profitable customers using a clear value proposition and based on excellent commercial discipline and practices.
Commercial
The Commercial Manager’s objective is to coordinate the development of customer specific international pricing proposals & solutions for existing and potential Global Account Management (GAM) portfolio customers by aligning with both internal stakeholders and US based strategic partners. In addition, advise GAM and country senior management on commercial issues like country/vertical market/account/product performance, internal costs and price/competitor positioning.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelors Degree required (Engineering, Logistics, with Project Management)
· High degree of statistical acumen
· Proficient in English. Spanish and or Portuguese preferred
· Management experience in a Commercial/Pricing environment
Strong pricing or costing background, preferably with exposure in all sales channels
· MBA or equivalent a plus
· Proven economic and financial cost analysis experience
· Prior experience in performing due diligence, business valuations and RFP/RFQ’s
· Proven experience and knowledge in effective people management practices including leadership development, succession planning and training and coaching.
· International Express, Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry background.
· Relevant Commercial and/or Sales experience.
· Profit and loss experience with direct accountability for functional performance and costs.
· Experience and understanding of international business culture
· Proven project management experience on multi-functional projects
· Experience of effective functional management skills (persuasion and influencing)
· Proven innovation skills (conception to deployment)
· MS Excel Advanced level
· MS Office
· Proven strong conceptual and analytical skills applied in business context
· Proven problem solving abilities
· Strong PC literacy with experience in complex database and data warehouse analysis
· Excellent persuasion and influencing skills at all organisational levels
· Experience and academic knowledge of cost allocation methodology and pricing theory
