This position reports directly to the SVP, Marketing. The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, understanding and distilling the business needs of categories and clients relevant to Active enabling our sales and account management teams to interact with prospects and clients at a more strategic level and facilitate solutions-based selling.

The Business Analyst works closely with each sales team to identify and prioritize categories and accounts that are targeted.
- Category Research & Analysis
- On a monthly basis, research, analyze and distribute category-focused summaries. These will include economic, marketing, international and other data points as well as overall trends, implications and opportunities for Active
- Categories will include top 10 from a sales perspective as well as media, product distribution, merchandising, retail and others as needed
- Leverage industry analysis to assist in lead generation (i.e. campaigns and tradeshows)
- Account Specific – For All Accounts
- Work with Marketing & Sales Management to develop a core set of information required for WebEx’s, meetings and business review. Identify which data will be mined by the Business Analyst and which data will be mined by NBDs, Sales VPs and Account Managers
- Work with each NBD, Sales VP and Account Manager to research and summarize information in advance of any WebEx, meeting and business review
- Account Specific – For Targeted Accounts
- Liaise with Marketing, Sales Management and Department Heads to identify priority accounts and conduct a more in-depth analysis in order to create opportunities with companies that are more difficult and/or represent a larger business opportunity for Active
- Tools & Resources
- Identify tools required for Business Analyst (internal & external)
- Identify tools required for Sales & Account Managers (internal & external)
- Conduct training to ensure that NBDs, Sales VPs & Account Managers get the most value from tools.
- Create guidelines and other resource documents to facilitate data gathering and account prep by NBDs, Sales VPs and Account Managers
- Develop relationships with internal resources and utilize these resources to enhance category and account-specific research

Bachelor's degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office - all required; Knowledge of a CRM system (preferably PeopleSoft) is a plus; Strong Internet navigation skills required including hands-on knowledge in social networking and other resources.
