POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Chubb Specialty Insurance Organization has an opening within their Technology and Operations (T&O) team. This opening is for a Senior Programmer Analyst (SPA) with core Java and Blaze development experience. This position is responsible for implementation of the tactical and strategic technological solutions to meet the requirements of client products and services. To be considered, candidates must have experience in both Java and Blaze.


JOB DESCRIPTION:


Evaluate complex client area requirements and processes. From these requirements the SPA must have the ability to design and implement complicated technology solutions. Must be able to execute and maintain standard corporate practices for operational software process. The position currently includes the following assignments: Translate more complex business and functional requests into program/applications that meet business requirements using both Java and Blaze developed Responsible for the successful implementation, deployment and maintenance of both new and existing web based applications. Ensure compliance with all software and infrastructure standards within Chubb. Build, test and maintain internally developed applications. Have the ability to perform and lead teams of technologists and to interface with business representatives. Willingness to travel to Connecticut on an as needed basis.


JOB SKILLS:


Must have experience with developing and deploying web based applications using both Java and Blaze technologies. Experience with the implementation of rules sets in structured rules language Experience in building and deploying web services based applications. 6 years of application development experience. Knowledge and experience working within a system development life cycle Confident and competent working in a fast paced environment that requires on time delivery. Strong communication skills, confidence, analytical abilities and the ability to bring tasks from start-up to completion with little or no oversight Experience working with client management to identify and implement systems that are based on extremely complex business requirements and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server), software, hardware, technologies and tools. Analyzes existing system and programming logic to provide more efficient operations or to identify difficulties and revises the logic and procedures involved as necessary.


EDUCATION:


Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least six years of experience in developing Java and Blaze related applications.
