Responsibilities:
The position encompasses programming, data and information analysis, quality assurance, and documentation and affords the opportunity to learn the insurance business. It is not expressly a developer or programmer role. We are seeking individuals for four full-time positions at the entry or experienced non-manager level. Responsibilities will include analysis of insurance manual rules and forms changes, and design and implementation of those changes into our insurance rating system; converting insurance rating algorithms into computer code rulesets and implementing the rulesets in rating engine plug-ins; managing the loading of tables of loss costs and factors to the rating engine; modifying end user input web screens to collect the additional data elements required for a new or changed coverage, and drafting version release notes; testing new software releases of the rating system code and implementing any corrections identified during the Quality Assurance process; organizing data and requirements for maximum development efficiency; and mastering details using solid organizational skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business with 12 credit hours in Information Systems. Strong Microsoft Office, personal computer, mathematical and analytical skills required. Experience using object-oriented programming languages (C, C++, C#, Java), HTML and XML/XSL, and SQL strongly preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills are also required. Experience using insurance concepts such as rating is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in business analysis.
