The Analyst position involves working in a team environment to develop and maintain databases and also to develop and validate processes to assess data for downstream systems and applications. This position requires continuous involvement and participation with IT and Business Groups across Fitch, as well as others teams within the Global Content Operations organization, to design, build and test software systems or products and the underlying components. This person will take a lead role on projects and may work on multiple projects at a time.

Responsibilities:
• Perform quality control checks of financial data for ongoing projects ; take corrective action if necessary.
• Work with IT and Business and Content groups to ensure the use of unit testing, code reviews, change control, build management, deployment plans, design and data model documentation
• Work with various development and business teams to understand the product requirements and to verify that the data under test meets those
• Create and modify SAS and SQL code to support data movement from source systems to SAS datasets.
• Ensure consistency with existing databases and warehouse
• Review business requests for data and data usage
• Document data specifications describing solutions to achieve information requirements
• Research data sources

Requirements:
• Strong programming background and knowledge of Java, C or C++ is required. SAS or PL/SQL is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical major (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering) with an excellent GPA preferred
• Any knowledge of finance is helpful
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently
• Excellent communication skills to interact with programmers and analysts to implement projects using databases
• Will be responsible for monitoring multiple databases and some reporting
• Knowledge of statistics and regression modeling
• Ideal candidate will have a BA from a top school and 1-3 years of relevant work experience
