The Company has developed or acquired a number of marketed products, including PEG-INTRON®, marketed by Schering-Plough, and ABELCET®, ONCASPAR®, ADAGEN®, and DEPOCYT®, which are all marketed in North America by Enzon’s hospital sales force.  Enzon’s science- focused strategy includes an extensive drug development program that leverages the Company’s macromolecular engineering technology platforms, including PEG modification and single-chain antibody (SCA®) technologies.  Internal research and development efforts are complemented by strategic transactions that provide access to additional products, projects, and technologies.  Enzon has several drug candidates in various stages of development, independently and with partners. Enzon Pharmaceuticals corporate headquarters is located in Bridgewater, NJ.


 


Responsibilities include participating in the design and execution purification processes and PEGylation reactions in small and scaled up reactions and assist in transferring methods to the Process Development Group.


 


Requires BS/MS/Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biology Chemical Engineering. Requires MS with 4-5 years industrial experience or Ph.D. with 3-4 years industrial experience in Protein Chemistry or Biochemistry. A strong analytical understanding of proteins analysis of proteins and PEG-proteins by various techniques (i.e. UV/VIS spectrophotometry, electrophoresis, HPLC, etc) and superior data documentation, interpretational and report writing skills required. Experience in protein purification techniques (i.e. chromatography, filtration, ultrafiltration, etc.) is also a requirement. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment are essential. Experience with the purification of proteins in an industrial setting is essential. Excellent analytical and documentation skills, computer skills and data interpretation and report generation also required.
