We are currently recruiting for a Staff Scientist to support Technology Transfer in Skillman, NJ. The Staff Scientist will support a broad range of consumer products such as Skin Care, Beauty Care, Baby Care, Oral Care, Wound Care, and Women's Health from a manufacturability and formulation standpoint. The Staff Scientist will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Research and Development to identify opportunities, build business cases and perform the work necessary to realize product cost and process improvements. The scope of work includes process development, writing specifications, writing technical justifications, lab batches, timeline management, etc. The Staff Scientist is expected to identify opportunities, execute technical aspects of projects, interact with and/or lead cross functional teams, and implement projects. The individual will work independently to drive technical resolutions in manufacturing and troubleshoot product issues under compressed timelines. Qualifications It is required that the candidate have at least a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of consumer industry experience. An advanced degree and/or degree in Chemical Engineering is a plus. Experience with consumer products, such as skin care, oral care, and wound care is highly desired. In addition experience working with skin cleansers, hair care, baby care and/or deodorants is also a plus. A good technical foundation of formulated products including any of the following: emulsions, surfactants, suspensions, structured liquids, and/or an understanding of material chemistry is required. Experience in process development, technical support, scale-up, formulation, and/or the ability to troubleshoot manufacturing and product issues is highly desired. The ability to work cross functionally in a team environment while being an individual contributor is a requirement. Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel), excellent oral and written communication skills and solid presentation skills are required. The ability to travel domestically between 15% and 25% is required.
