Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY

    * Works together with the Assistant Tax Director to lead a team of three to five accountants utilizing cutting edge tax software to create an efficient compliance process
    * Oversees and reviews the completion of the tax packages.
    * Enhances the automation of the completion of international filings.  
    * Works with all levels of professionals within and outside of the Tax Department.
    * Understands E&P adjustments, Subpart F, and foreign tax credit calculations.
    * Completes as part of a team - Form 1118, international disclosures, election statements, quarterly foreign source income and foreign tax credit forecasts for tax accounting purposes.
    * Assists in evaluating different planning alternatives and in implementing the final result
    * Oversees all Federal and State income tax estimates, extensions and return preparations
    * Reviews Federal, State and City income tax returns
    * Compiles and reviews Tax Accounting per FAS 109 (federal and state calculations)
    * Assists audit team with substantiation (federal and state)
    * Aids with research and planning
    * Mentors interns in all aspects of tax return preparation

 

Qualifications

 
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
MST coursework a plus
CPA a plus
 
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 4 years of Tax experience is required
Must be highly organized and a strong team player
Strong understanding of federal and state tax rules is required
Knowledge of Tax Accounting is preferred
Proficiency with tax software and ability to make process improvements is highly desired
Proven ability to lead a strong plus
