Director of Income Tax
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To drive the process for timely and accurate preparations of worldwide income tax provision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* FAS 109 expert, leading the overall tax accounting and reporting function for the Company to comply with all appropriate rules and standards.
* Leading development and documentation of appropriate technical tax accounting conclusions.
* Supporting the development and implementation of tax accounting processes (including TaxStream), as well as broader tax accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
* Promoting the importance of strong internal controls and actively guide control environment to assure high-quality functioning of these controls.
* Supporting corporate reporting and governance surrounding FASB, SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
* Assuring that tax accounts in the general ledger system are maintained in a timely and high-quality manner.
* Serving as one of the Company's primary contacts with its external auditors, routinely working through technical tax accounting issues.
* Assist in developing initiatives to accomplish significant objectives, which may include organizational restructuring, process re-engineering, technological enhancements, tax planning strategies, and adapting to changing business and regulatory environments.
* Over the next 12- 18 months, assume responsibility for federal income tax compliance process.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; CPA
* Position requires 10 -- 12 years of professional tax experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm or equivalent in a corporate tax department.
* Experience in supporting the preparation of public company SEC filings, such as Forms 10-Q and 10-K, Proxy and Registration statements.
* Must possess a thorough working knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, and proven ability to develop and support appropriate technical tax accounting conclusions and to document rationale and conclusions in a concise, complete and timely fashion.
* Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance / implementation.
