Fitch is currently seeking a Director/Senior Director in the U.S. Public Finance Business Development group to assist Fitch in growing its business in a certain Region of the U.S. (particularly the Northeast or the Midwest) and/or in one or more Public Finance debt Sectors nationwide. Preferred job location is New York or Chicago.

The successful candidate will be responsible for business development through direct calls on market participants including; financial advisors, public finance bankers, issuers, underwriters, traders, salespeople and major investors. This position will require the candidate to interact with these market participants in Public Finance for the purpose of developing ratings for the Public Finance ratings group.

Responsibilities will include developing and implementing an annual business plan for a given Region and/or Sector, including issuer targets and strategic ideas and coordinating relevant participation at conferences and trade shows and other business development related travel.

The ideal candidate must have five or more years of experience in municipal finance analysis and/or new business origination. Strong public speaking, verbal and written communication skills are required. Familiarity of contact management software is preferred.
