Department Description
The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and our global and local regulators. The global Audit Department has in excess of 500 Audit Officers.
Position Description
This role provides the opportunity to participate in audits across the Worldwide Securities Services (WSS) businesses. This business encompasses a host of Securities Services products, operations and systems (including custody, fund accounting, broker dealer services and securities lending).
Responsibilities
- Lead audit engagements covering WSS businesses. In this capacity you will be responsible for all aspects of an audit: planning and documenting the scope of audits, identifying controls and test procedures, providing guidance to team members, discussing recommendations with senior management, drafting audit reports and follow-up verification of issue closure.
- Partner with colleagues to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls, and make appropriate recommendations for improvement. This may be achieved through specific audits or through on-going involvement in major activities or projects.
- Ensure audits are performed in accordance with department and professional standards in an efficient manner with attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of coverage.
- Monitoring key risk indicators, significant change activities and escalation of emerging issues to senior management in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrate a holistic understanding of the business control environment when documenting issues and suggesting solutions.
- Consistently deliver audit services that satisfy the needs of the firm by helping to improve its control environment.
- Develop and maintain business relationships to monitor changes in the control environment while remaining independent.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving regulatory changes impacting the business.
