Job Description:
The Sr. Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the administration, maintenance and development of Financial Systems at MSG. Conducts reporting and system administration with the Budgeting and Forecasting system, administration of budgets and approval hierarchies for the Purchasing system, and development and enhancement to other Financial Systems, including Oracle General Ledger system. Provides updated budget balances and GL string combinations for the MSG Purchasing system (Puridiom).
Prepares change requests related to approval hierarchies in Puridiom for review and approval by VP System Development. Administers Financial Systems' role in the Oracle monthly closing process. Performs System Administration, security administration, trouble-shooting, report creation and database administration of Budgeting and Forecasting systems (TM1). Designs and implements report formats requested by Controllers and Division Finance personnel. Participates in special projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or IT with at least six years of experience in finance and/or systems performing accounting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis or related functions. Must have strong knowledge and familiarity with Financial Systems and experience with System Administration and Support preferred. Will have expertise with advanced Financial Systems such as Puridiom, TM1, Oracle, PeopleSoft or similar products. Must have familiarity with Accounting and Finance terminology with a thorough understanding of operating and financial budgeting and forecasting.
Will have strong work ethic with ability to solve issues and recommend solutions to employees with whom there is no direct reporting relationship. Must have a goal oriented approach to long term projects and be creative when dealing with business problems and systems issues to arrive at an optimal solution.
Must be a team player with the ability to work as a valued contributor. Will have excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate cross communications among Finance, Technical and Operating teams and the ability to interact effectively with systems users. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows, email, database packages, Excel and other advanced spreadsheet product is required.
