Responsibilities
As key member of the RCN Finance Group and New York Market management team, help manage and coordinated most aspects of local market finance function including:
-Planning: Coordinate monthly/quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and long-term plans with local market senior management and corporate financial planning group.
-Financial Analysis: Analyze performance against budgets/goals on a regular basis and provide variance explanation to local market team and corporate finance.
-Decision Support: Lead financial analysis in support of all major business decisions in market including expansion opportunities, capital expenditures, vendor selection, etc. including development and presentation of business cases to company senior management.
-Work with local market General Manager and team to develop plans for driving continued improvement in financial performance over short and long-term.
-Help manage monthly close process including analytical review, accruals, balance sheet analysis, etc.
-Manage local market Payment Center including related staff.
-Manage equipment and materials warehouse including related staff.
-Manage internal control environment in local market including compliance with accounting procedures and controls.
-Evaluate and approve all market expenditures.
-Assist with the audit process, sox compliance, and annual and quarterly filings as needed.
-Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-BS in Accounting/Finance, MBA/CPA a plus, 5-10 years progressive experience in finance/accounting, telecommunications experience preferred.
-Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to clearly communicate with all levels of RCN staff and outside parties both verbally and written.
-Must have strong interpersonal, leadership and supervisory skills, attention to detail and hands-on work style. Strong PC skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite of Products. Team Orientation, Ability to function effectively in fast paced dynamic environment. Strategic ability.
